Technology

We have a comprehensively equipped research and conservation workshop and a rich collection of specialist literature.
Our conservators have at their disposal an XRF spectrometer, microscopes, specialized equipment for taking photos in UV and IR light, a professional digital radiography device, a 3D scanner, a 3D printer, and full-size low-pressure tables.

It uses the phenomenon of X-ray fluorescence. It is used to perform detailed analyzes of the elemental composition of pigments in the paint layer and underpainting. They allow, among others on the dating of the time of creation of painting on the basis of the so-called dating pigments and confirm its authenticity.

It allows you to assess the changes introduced to the painting during its creation by the author himself and subsequent conservation interventions. It also provides a lot of information about the materials used both in the creative process and later during intervention and conservation work.

They allow you to make three-dimensional models of restored objects and then print the elements to fill the losses.

It allows for an in-depth analysis of the structure, technique and technology of the work, determining the causes of possible damage, and determining the scope and methods of interference in the work.

Used to determine the state of preservation of the object, the techniques used by the author, previous repaintings, and conservation interventions.
